I grew up in Melbourne, Australia. In my early 20’s, I set off on a dream adventure with the love of my life travelling the world. Filled with wanderlust, carrying little more than a backpack for months at a time we traveled. We eventually settled and London became our home.
Food and travel for many years were intertwined. When my daughter was born, travel was briefly sidelined. I spent a great deal of time with my sister, we reminisced of our childhood - wide eyed and incredibly eager helping our Mum in the kitchen. We began baking Mums old recipes, experimented and taught ourselves how to make and decorate elaborate cakes for our friends, family and ultimately our children.
After the birth of my son, I began teaching cookery classes. I discovered how much I loved sharing my knowledge and passion for baking with other like minded people. During the classes students would watch taking videos and photos, wanting to remember every singe step and detail... Cake by Sarah Reed was conceived, as a platform to share recipes, inspiration and knowledge with a special section dedicated to cooking with kids, which is very close to my heart.
